Our MD, Joe Govier and Lizzie Govier, HR Director, have recently featured within the business section of The Sunday Times detailing how they credited their business Connect 2 Cleanrooms.
A passionate entrepreneur, Joe Govier has cultivated Connect 2 Cleanrooms from start-up to industry leading cleanroom manufacturer in 15 years; celebrating many industry firsts along the way.
The article provides an insight into Joe and Lizzies journey, both business and personal, and their vision for Connect 2 Cleanrooms future.
Armed with £15,000 following the sale of their injection moulding business, Detail Plastics, Joe and Lizzie set up Connect 2 Cleanrooms in Lancaster in 2003. They spotted the opportunity after Joe had to design and build his own clean room for Detail Plastics.
“I was making stock for the medical industry, so I needed one” said Joe. At the time, a cleanroom could cost up to £500,000.
Following the launch of the website, an order immediately came in from Manchester University, which Joe installed himself and it is still in operation to date. Today, clients include Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, Rolls-Royce and aircraft cabin maker B/E Aerospace.
Now in its 15th year, Connect 2 Cleanrooms has relied solely on inward investment, never taking on any loans or credit and aims to double in size, with a £20 million turnover by 2020.
